Creating a Jira Ticket

Open the following Jira board https://eliterate.atlassian.net/jira/software/c/projects/MER/boards/2 and select the blue “Create” button.

The following Create issue window will appear.

Issue type:

Bug - A problem/issue that needs to be addressed. (Mostly we will only deal with bugs). Story - A new feature that we want to integrate. Task - Typically reserved for future updates that need to happen. Epic - A family of tickets.

Status:

Leave as Analyzing for Mia to look at.

Summary:

A short and quick explanation/summary of the problem. Examples are: “As a student I am getting 500 errors when loading course”, “Error when minimizing screen in Advanced Author”.

Description:

A detailed description explaining what the issue/problem is. Include which environment the problem is occurring on. Include a video of the problem and/or pictures to support your description.

Steps to Reproduce:

Create step by step directions of how you found the problem and how others can recreate the same issue.

Expected Behavior:

The expected behavior should describe how the action should act without the bug.

Environment:

This will be where the problem is occurring. Whether it is on Argos Prod, Argos QA, etc. To find which environment you are in scroll to the bottom of the Projects page and it will be located at the bottom right of the page. In the following screenshot the Environment would be: Argos Prod Version 0.27.1 (9B93834) 04/11/2024.
